Hello from New Zealand!

Dear Friends and Family,

I have decided to create this blog, as is was getting too difficult to contact you all individually, and the mass emails are too far apart.
So hopefully this will help!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a blast! I had a great time. I was on the beach for Christmas where I spent some time with 5 other people. I swam and touched the local dolphin, Moko! It was really cool!
For New Years, I was at Rhythm and Vines, a giant outdoor music festival. There was a huge display of fireworks and midnight, and live bands everywhere. It takes place in Gisborne, where apparently, it is the first part of the world where the sun rises. So at about 7 am I was able to see the very first sunrise of the new year! It was SWEET AS! (Sweet as is an expression Kiwi's use here.) Seriously, it was beautiful. I will attach the picture, and a pic of the 6 of us huddled together to watch it!
Now I am back in Wellington working at Molly Malone's! I am tending bar at their classy joint, "The Red Head." I am learning how to make cocktails which is pretty cool. I have been practicing when it isn't busy. I mime pouring drinks and shaking them, and garnishing them. HAHA! Little did I know that one of my coworkers was watching me the other day and commented on it. Then my boss came up to me and asked me if I talked to myself really dramatically. I said, "...yes..." And she was like yeah I caught you doing that!" Oops! Guess I am a little wierd, and they haven't fully gotten to know me! Oh well, all in good time.
The girls and I are planning on staying in Wellington until at least mid February and then travel the South Island for a month. It will be great! I am excited for that.
Other than that, I am just hanging out in New Zealand. Not sure what my next move will be or when I am coming back. But until then, I love emails and letters!
I will try to write on this at least once a week so check back for updates!
I miss you all, and I hope you are doing well.

Love,
Caroline
